What is happening when?

The Ceremony is on Sunday, Sept 5th at 6pm.

If you’re staying at camp, see here for the full activity list.

If you are not staying at camp, and just coming to the Ceremony Sunday see here.

Can I bring my kid(s)?

We would love to make our adult summer camp experience as adult as possible, but we know that leaving your kids at home while you go off to summer camp isn’t really possible for most of you, so the short answer is YES! You can bring your kids.
During the reception, we plan to have a camp councilor watch the kids and do crafts activities and stuff so that we can party it up. We’ll also have kid food options throughout the weekend.

Kids staying at camp do still have to pay for accommodations, meals and camp activities throughout the weekend, so you’ll need to pay the camp $60 per child at check in.

Who will be staying in my cabin?

We’ll be working hard to pair you guys up only with others that you know that you’ll get along with. There will be an average of 2-4 people per cabin. If there is someone you’d like to share a cabin with, please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to put you guys together.

Due to Covid, we are adding more cabins than additionally planned to give more room to spread out. If you need a cabin to yourselves please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Can I bring my pet?

Sadly, no. Even the “great” Gatsby will not be allowed to attempt due to camp insurance policies.

Can we just stay in a hotel and come do the camp activities?

This is tough because we really want you guys to join us at the summer camp to make the most of it. In general, if you aren’t staying at camp then you are welcome to join us for the ceremony and reception on Sunday night, but the rest of camp is generally for campers only.

IF you have a legit reason that you can’t stay at camp and you really want to participate in the rest of the camp activities, we can make exceptions and get you a camp wristband to participate but we just ask for you to pay up-front so we don’t end up owing the camp a million dollars. That is $50 per person and goes to Camp Highlander. Give us a shout to arrange that so we’ll have your wrist band ready for you when you arrive.

Tell me more about the costs.

Our summer camp wedding is far from typical. Think of it more as a destination wedding. Instead of paying to stay at an all inclusive resort, you’re paying to stay at an amazing summer camp and all of the activities that go along with that.

Your $200 per person ($60 for kids) will pay for lodging at your cabin, cleaning fees and meals. Those meals include: Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, Sunday dinner, Monday breakfast (Sunday lunch will be available via a food truck separately) and various snacks through the weekend.

How do we book and pay for camp?

Just RSVP that you’re staying at camp and we’ll handle it from there.
You pay the camp directly when you arrive to camp and check in. If you would prefer to pay ahead of time, that’s cool. We can collect payment via Venmo and give it to the camp to make it easier for you.

NOTE: PAYMENT AT CAMP MUST BE MADE VIA CASH OR CHECK

Is there cell service? WiFi?

There is a Wifi Network that covers pretty much all of camp. During our tour, I noticed that cell signal was pretty weak or non-existent though. So you may be slightly limited while at camp, but at least there is Wifi.

What will the food be like?

One of the things we loved about Camp Highlander is how amazing their food is. Here is the menu for the weekend, though there could be some small adjustments:
Saturday Dinner: BBQ / Pulled Pork
Sunday Brunch: Scrambled Eggs, bacon, Blueberry Muffins, Bagels & Cream Cheese, Whole Fruit, oatmeal, grits, cereal
Sunday Lunch: Food Truck Unknown
Sunday Dinner: Taco Station, Asian Stir Fry Station, Salad Station
Monday Breakfast: Eggs, Bacon, muffins, bagels, etc.

Is there a store close by for supplies?

Yes, there is a giant Ingles grocery store just down the road. You’re welcome to run there for supplies at any point. They have lots of hot and ready food options as well if you need a quick meal alternative.

Can we bring our own food? Is there anywhere to store cold food and beer?

You can absolutely bring anything you want and we welcome you to bring some beer, but you should bring a cooler too. There is a fridge and a small kitchen in one of the common areas, but it could be a long walk from your cabin and you may not be able to access it during certain hours. Ingles is close by to refill your cooler with ice as needed.

Are you registered anywhere?

We mean it when we say that your participation in this crazy wedding is the best gift you can give us. But because we know that may not fly for everyone, we have created a registry site at myregistry.com.

Will you be “Covid-proofing” your wedding?

We’ll be taking some reasonable measures to make sure our wedding doesn’t end in tragedy, but for the most part our strategy will revolve around being properly vaccinated before our wedding.

If you would like to avoid sharing a cabin with others and want your own cabin, please let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

How do we dress?

Most of the camp experience will be tank top and swim trunks or jeans shorts manditory (jk jk), but obviously camp-casual.
But for the ceremony, it ask you to dress in nice, semi formal attire (no jeans please).
